» October Horror Films Recommendations: Hair
I decided to do something new in fun this October. I will pick a different theme every day and recommend two horror films relating to that theme is hair. Now I am not the most eloquent woman, but I have watched an insane amount of horror films. So just trust me on it. Also my plot summaries will be brief due to the fact I do not wish to spoil anything.

The Gruesome Twosome (1967)
Tagline: “Oh Yes… Our Wigs Are Made From Genuine Human Hair, And How!”
The plot is rather simple; hot Co-Eds go missing and somehow it is linked to a local wig shop. The director, Herschel Gordon Lewis is often credited with starting the gore film genre. The film was initially deemed too short to be a feature film. So in order to make it the proper length he made a nonsensical introduction with Styrofoam heads. Many complain about the acting, but what do you expect from a 60’s B movie? Despite that, it is still an enjoyable film, and it is an interesting look at the beginning of splatter films.

Exte: Hair Extensions (2007)
Tagline: “What lovely hair you have…”
The film focuses Yoko, an aspiring hair dresser. When the salon she works at purchases new hair extensions, things begin to go awry. The hair extensions actually kill those who wear them. While it will most likely never be considered a classic, Exte is a unique and entertaining film. Especially for those who regularly watch Japanese horror films. It is not just another typical creepy girl with long hair gets all up in everybody.
